The fishing districts frequented by the painter Sorolla or the writer Blasco Ibáñez, in search of his muse, are now promising and attractive urban centres where the new generations of Valencians and the most demanding tourists seeking to get closer to the sea are settling.
In the heart of the Canyamelar district, this project is the refurbishment that the Kaleidoscope team has carried out for Bricks&People, the first Valencian real estate crowdfunding company.
A completely refurbished first floor flat of 80 m2, three bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room with open plan kitchen opening onto an interior terrace.
The challenge was to achieve a bright, welcoming and modern space where everyone could feel at home.
For this reason, wood, a material of great visual warmth, has been one of the key elements of the project and contributes to harmonise the different rooms, being the common thread of our decoration and interior design proposal.
Throughout the space, we played with the contrast of this and other textures and materials, seeking to convey serenity and the feeling of being in a second home.
Whites, greens and woody colours are our main bet, interspersed with touches of black and blue that bring visual dynamism to the space.
The result is what you can see in the images. Kaleidoscope, space design, has managed to create an environment with a Mediterranean flavour that will be rented as a tourist flat.

Wood is the undisputed protagonist of the refurbishment. Its presence in different elements, such as floors, furniture and decorative details, brings warmth and a natural touch to the environment, in contrast with other materials, such as ceramics or fabric, giving depth to the space.
Energy efficiency and acoustics
The essentials of energy efficiency and acoustics
A system that prioritises energy and acoustic efficiency is essential to ensure a healthy, comfortable and sustainable environment. By reducing energy consumption, we reduce our carbon footprint and save on bills!
Thermal and acoustic insulation
At Kaleidoscope, we chose good acoustic insulation to suit the location of the house. Choosing the right insulation improves our quality of life by protecting us from inclement weather and outside noise, as well as creating quieter spaces conducive to rest and concentration.
Ventilation
A proper ventilation system helps to eliminate pollutants, odours and allergens, thus improving our health and well-being. We chose the system that was best suited to the home, so that we could renew the indoor air, eliminate humidity, prevent the appearance of mould and guarantee good air quality.
Air conditioning
The selection of the air-conditioning system was made on an individual basis, taking into account the specific characteristics of the house and the needs of its occupants. The result? A comfortable and energy-efficient indoor environment.
Decoration and style
From the Mediterranean
Despite its traditional aesthetics, the refurbishment brought a modern and functional decoration. The furniture, simple and clean lines, creating an orderly and welcoming atmosphere with the prominence of white, green and woody tones, which dominate the colour palette, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere, right?

We remodelled the kitchen by integrating it into the dining area for greater day-to-day spaciousness. The kitchen furniture, in an elegant white, contrasts with the warm wood of the central island that serves as a dining area. In addition to being functional, it brings a rustic and cosy touch to the environment, without forgetting that we made the most of the storage space.
