Reform Project
Home refurbishment in Ciutat Vella

Vacation rentals are a growing option, especially in coastal areas.
The owners of this property in Valencia wanted to convert it into a holiday home and therefore came to us, looking for a tailor-made project and comprehensive reform and interior design that would allow them to obtain a stunning result.
The objective: to put their flat on the summer rental market and thus amortise their investment as soon as possible. They knew that the images they shared of the refurbishment would be the first impression that the potential tenant would have.
When we entered the flat we found it to be dark and very compartmentalised, with very small rooms that did not comply with current regulations, completely unsuitable for today’s lifestyle and offering no comfort whatsoever.
When it comes to obtaining a good rental income, there are many factors involved.
Of course, the location of the property is important, but how the renovation is carried out, how the spaces are distributed, is a fundamental factor. The property will have to be proportionate, coherent and balanced.
Kaleidoscope has managed to maximise the space by distributing the living-dining room and kitchen in a single space. This central room leads to the two bedrooms.
The master bedroom has access to the courtyard, which has been adapted and sheltered from prying eyes for the enjoyment of the tenants at all times of the year.
The colours used, white and blue, give light to the house and are a reflection of what tourists are looking for: sun, sea and beach.
The result is what you can see in the images. Kaleidoscope has managed to give a second life to this house trapped in the 60s.
Before finishing the work, the owners already received some offers, it was rented in record time, proving that a well-executed renovation and interior design project can help you to rent your home in a short time.
Interiores magazine dedicates an extensive report to one of our interior design projects developed in a house in the centre of the city of Valencia with its spectacular result. September 2017.

A space to flow through
Optimizing space in the corridor, dining room, living room, and kitchen.
We embarked on a 100% Mediterranean project, and not only because of the location, but also because of the colours and decoration carefully chosen for this refurbishment that was to become a beautiful holiday home. The owners of this Valencia home wanted to transform it to maximize its potential and profitability. They turned to us for a bespoke project, encompassing a complete renovation and interior design, to achieve a stunning, magazine-worthy result.
We set to work on a remodel designed to maximize space, ensuring practicality and functionality to enhance its market profitability while also creating a welcoming second home for future guests. The results? Read on, we’ll tell you all about it.

Brightness and use of the environment
Natural light and sophisticated wood make this home cosy and comfortable.
During the remodeling process, Kaleidoscope transformed the space into an open-plan layout, integrating the living room, dining area, and kitchen—flooding the home with natural light! This was no small feat, as we were working with a highly compartmentalized and dark space. The bedroom, harmonized with the rest of the house, leads to an interior courtyard to enjoy the peace in the middle of the city’s nerve centre.

Quality materials
High-quality materials, in harmony with the bright colours of the house
Made-to-measure furniture that gives prominence to light and colour. In this project, the aim was to give the home spaciousness and personality, transmitting joy and good energy. At Kaleidoscope, we chose furniture adapted to the space we managed to open up, selecting the details in white and blue colours that evoke the sea and the beach.
Energy efficiency and acoustics
Improving quality of life in reform
Investing in good thermal and acoustic insulation, as well as ventilation and air conditioning during the renovation is the key to ensuring a stable indoor temperature throughout the year and a better quality of life for the inhabitants of the house.
Thermal and acoustic insulation
In the remodelling of the house, we also apply thermal and acoustic insulation, which is fundamental in refurbishment, to maintain a stable interior temperature throughout the year, avoiding the cold in winter and the heat in summer. This translates into greater comfort and well-being for the occupants.
Ventilation
Cross ventilation has become the best way to enjoy a climate of comfort and well-being, ensuring optimal air circulation that maximises the quality of the indoor environment.
Air conditioning
Every home is unique, and so are its air conditioning needs. For this project, we studied the particularities of the space in depth and selected a customised air conditioning system that adapts perfectly to the characteristics of the property, guaranteeing maximum comfort for the owners.
Decoration and style
From the Mediterranean
White and blue predominate, colours that transmit the freshness and joy of the sea and the beach, perfect for a flat in Valencia! The design makes the most of the space with functional and practical furniture.

Cooking at a different level
Equipped, functional and practical kitchen
By opening up the kitchen to the living area, the space was flooded with natural light. We chose white furniture, with more storage, which in contrast to the blue of the walls and modern wallpaper gave the kitchen a personality of its own.
