Ecological houses have greater benefits compared to traditional constructions, not only because of the materials used, but also because of the great energy savings they entail. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They offer optimal habitability because in addition to the higher quality of their materials, with previous bioclimatic studies, durability is superior.  <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Characteristics of eco-friendly houses<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are looking for an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kaleidoscope.es\/en\/blog\/efficient-housing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">efficient home<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or to completely renovate your current house and turn it into a sustainable house, we tell you about its main characteristics: <\/span> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Isolation. We can say that it is the <span style=\"color: #282828;\">future of<\/span> biohousing, and although other countries are ahead of us, in Spain we are beginning to become aware of the social and economic benefits of building ecological houses.   <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is true that there are more than 28,000 properties around the world that have the passive housing certificate but they are not entirely homes (office buildings, schools&#8230;) although more and more people are proposing that their house be ecological.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Spain, the first passive house was built in Granada in 2010, and today there are more than 120 certified projects with the ultimate goal of having a higher quality of life and contributing to the reduction of environmental impact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to the materials with which they are built, the common areas of sustainable houses can maintain a constant temperature of 25\u00b0C for most of the year.  In other words, we have a temperature-controlled home, without having to use external heating. This results in a total energy consumption of less than 120kWh per year.    <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discover the 4 most unique eco-friendly houses<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aesthetics are not at odds with sustainability, and to prove this, we present 4 wonderful sustainable houses whose characteristics we detail below:  <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Pop Up House &#8211; France  <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/kaleidoscope.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/popup-house-profugos-3.jpg\" alt=\"ecological-house-france\" width=\"730\" height=\"303\"><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This house built in 2014 in Aux-en-Provence, France is made of recyclable wood panels and insulation blocks. Its materials allow the house to be completely insulated and it would hardly need additional heating in winter, since the thermal loss is only 0.11W\/m<sup>2<\/sup>K. This quirky project consists of 180m2 and includes two bathrooms, an office, a master bedroom and two small rooms. It is called Pop-Up because of the speed of its implementation, as it can take up to 2 months to be ready.  <\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Geodesic Housing &#8211; Spain<\/strong><\/h4>\n<figure style=\"width: 524px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kaleidoscope.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/casa5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"524\" height=\"394\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by ecoproyecta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This sustainable house of 85 m2 is located in Jumilla with two particular geodesic domes and consumes only 10% of energy since it does not have electricity or water supplies. It uses renewable energies to be totally self-sufficient. <\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 424px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kaleidoscope.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/casa5_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"424\" height=\"318\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by ecoproyecta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The domed shape of the domes offers a spacious and enveloping interior space allowing sunlight to reach every corner of the house.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>H\u00e9liodome &#8211; France<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/inarquia.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/casas-sostenibles-dise%C3%B1o-bioclimatico.jpg\" alt=\"sustainable-houses-bioclimatic-design\" width=\"616\" height=\"387\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The house, located in Alsace, has a <strong>bioclimatic design<\/strong> with a south-facing glass fa\u00e7ade to efficiently control the temperature and reduce energy consumption. The materials used were wood and glass and it has solar panels that self-supply energy a water heater. <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This curious construction was designed thinking that it would be in the shape of a sundial, and its characteristics made it take the designer more than 10 years to carry it out. However, it was worth it, as it won the L\u00e9pine competition in 2003. <\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Ship Earth &#8211; Argentina<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-celbh.nitrocdn.com\/YbeIDgGiUTrkENOzojawYcwoLCXzRFIW\/assets\/static\/optimized\/rev-daf1979\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/images_casas-sostenibles-originales-basura-arquitectura.jpg\" alt=\"sustainable-houses-original-trash-architecture\" width=\"605\" height=\"403\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Moving to Argentina, we can discover the first <strong>self-sustainable<\/strong> house in Latin America, Nave Tierra.
